A beautiful, luminous work by the painter Louis Bonamici depicting a terrace on the shores of the Mediterranean, enlivened by two figures feeding chickens. While the scene is not set near Bandol or Le Lavandou, it may be set in Spain or Greece—countries the artist visited and painted during his travels.
In the foreground, two figures can be seen feeding chickens on the terrace, illuminated by sunlight streaming through the arbor adorned with Virginia creeper or wisteria. On the wall of the white house, a niche serving as a prayer niche is visible.
The background offers a view of the Mediterranean Sea.

The painter Louis Bonamici masterfully captures the interplay of light and shadow in this composition.
A proponent of painting with a palette knife, Louis Bonamici strives to capture the warm colors of Provence through scenes of ports and daily life.
His works are executed in a harmonious blend of vivid colors; his thick application of paint lends depth to his pieces, compelling viewers to step back to fully appreciate them.
He was appointed Official Painter to the Navy in 1921.


Dimensions: 50 x 61 cm unframed and 76 x 87.5 cm with its original carved and patinated wooden frame (please note that the frame has some imperfections and minor damage).
