A beautiful work by the Toulon painter, Victor Cuguen, depicting a view of the flower market, most likely on the Cours Lafayette in Toulon. 
The artist used a vibrant color palette and employed impasto techniques with a palette knife to create depth in his composition. 

Victor Louis Cuguen was born in Pontorson, Manche. He exhibited landscapes at the Salon des Indépendants from 1922 to 1940. He settled in Toulon, became a member of the Friends of the Arts of the Var, and participated in numerous exhibitions. 
He painted lively landscapes of Toulon and its surroundings using a vibrant color palette. 

Dimensions: 22 x 27 cm unframed and 32 x 36.5 cm with its original wooden frame.
