A beautiful work by the Toulon painter, Victor Cuguen, depicting a view of the flower market, most likely on the Cours Lafayette in Toulon. 
The artist used a vibrant color palette and employed impasto techniques with a palette knife to give depth to his composition. 

Victor Louis Cuguen was born in Pontorson, Manche. He exhibited landscapes at the Salon des Indépendants from 1922 to 1940. He settled in Toulon and became a member of the Friends of the Arts of the Var, participating in numerous exhibitions. 
He painted lively landscapes of Toulon and its surroundings using a vibrant color palette. 

Dimensions: 22 x 27 cm unframed and 27 x 32 cm with its original giltwood frame.
