Beautiful luminous work by the Aixois painter Edouard Ducros, friend of Cézanne, which represents a view of Saint Genest church from the canal in martigues.

After a brilliant career as a lawyer, solicitor and then clerk at the Court of Appeal of Aix en Provence, Edouard Ducros decided to give up his job to devote himself to painting.
At the age of 46, he was a pupil of the painters Louis Gautier and Jules Gustave Gagliardini. He will exhibit at the Salon of French artists from 1911 to 1935. He is the founder, in 1894, of the association Les Amis des arts de sa ville, the purpose of which is to exhibit the work of painters from the Pays d'Aix in the Cours Mirabeau gallery.
His friend Cézanne was one of the first artists to exhibit within this association. Moreover, it is alongside his friend Cézanne that the artist leaves to paint the surroundings of Aix.

Dimensions: 54 x 73 cm without its frame and 77 x 96 cm with its original gilded wooden frame.
