Beautiful work by Avignon painter Joseph Hurard who represents a view of Bescon in Martigues, animated by fishermen in their boats.
The artist was able to transcribe the atmosphere and colors of a sunrise on the banks of the water through the use of bright colors and playing on contrasts.

After the First World War, he exhibited in galleries in Marseille.
In 1932, he settled in Martigues, a site he has been painting since 1913.
