Beautiful finely crafted work by the Marseille painter Alexandre Isailoff which represents a view of Fort Saint Jean in Marseille. The artist was able to perfectly transcribe the architecture of the Fort.
Born in Constantinople, he studied with Régnier at the National School of Fine Arts in Marseille, then with Jean-Baptiste OLIVE. At the end, he turned to a career as a painter-draughtsman. He completed his preparation with a trip to the Orient from where he returned to France and settled in Paris. He exhibited in various Salons including that of the Champs-Elysées.
His production is devoted to representing, with warm colors, landscapes of Provence and Italy.
Nb: Watercolor in good condition, slightly isolated and some small stains.
Dimensions: 75 x 54 cm without frame and 83.5 x 63 cm with its wooden frame.
