Beautiful work in autumnal colors by the painter Léon Joubert which represents a general view of Villeneuve les Avignon from the island of Barthelasse. We can distinguish one of the city's emblematic monuments: Fort Saint-André, as well as part of the historic center.
The artist has perfectly reproduced the autumn colors with his palette.
A student of Léon Germain Pelouse and Fernand Cormon, Léon Joubert exhibited at the Salon des Artistes français from 1876 to 1927.
In 1883, he exhibited landscapes at the Art Association of Montreal (Canada) and at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. preserves from the artist a view of the surroundings of Rochefort.
He enjoys painting views of towns and villages along rivers. It is linked to the Barbizon School.
Dimensions: 27.5 x 41 cm without frame and 38 x 52 cm with its modern wooden frame.
