Beautiful and rare work from the first period by the Avignon artist, Joseph Meissonnier, which represents a scene of sheep grazing on the island of Barthelasse (Mazet Reboul) facing the Palais des Papes.
Jospeh Meissonnier was a student of the painter Pierre Grivolas, Camille Dufour and Paul Saïn. He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1887. He regularly attended the exhibitions of the Société Vauclusienne des amis des arts and that of the group of Thirteen.
Dimensions : 36 x 66.5 cm without its frame and 50 x 80.5 cm with its frame (previously restored frame)
