Beautiful work by the Niçois painter Adelin Charles Morel de Tanguy which represents a view of the harbor at Agay near Saint-Raphaël in the Estérel, at the end of the day under a creamy sky. It must certainly be a view of the Baumettes cove in Agay. 
The artist plays on the contrasts of the blue water and the ochre-colored volcanic rocks to give depth to his composition. 

Our painting is similar to the work "Un coin de de l'Estérel" by the artist measuring 110 x 220 cm, sold at Boisgirard Nice in 2022. 

Student of Alexandre Calame, Charles Morel de Tanguy has a studio in Nice. 
According to Viborel "in the ordinary production of the painters of the Riviera, 'the work of Morel de Tanguy is like a resurrection of light. Everything bathes in an aerial transparency, in a fluid clarity where the effect does not appear'. 

Dimensions: 14 x 22 cm without frame and 28.5 x 36.5 cm with its original wooden frame.
