Titled, countersigned and dated on the back on the stretcher by the artist: "Le Pont Sospel 1929 - Louis PASTOUR",

Beautiful, luminous and colorful work by Cannes painter Louis Pastour depicting a view of the bridge at Sospel in the Alpes-Maritimes. The artist uses a palette of pure colors, perfectly reproducing the town's architecture and the play of light on a summer's day.
The artist creates several views of the Sospel bridge, where colors and luminosity change with the seasons.

Worker by day and evening student at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Nice and then Paris, he exhibited for the first time at the age of 45. In 1902, he and a group of art-loving workers founded the Association des Beaux Arts de Cannes, of which he was general secretary. Through this association, local painters are showcased at an annual exhibition.
A painter of light with total mastery of color, Louis Pastour uses the knife technique to bring his works to life.
Recognized by critics as a painter-poet because of the poem names they give his works: Fête de soleil, Reflets d'or, Gloire au matin ...
