Titled on the back by the artist: "Seaside, Backlight effect, Gulf of La Ciotat "
Beautiful work, with strong contrast, by the painter Gustave Vidal which represents a view of the Gulf of La Ciotat against the light, taken from the customs path to Madrague(Saint-Cyr sur Mer) . We can see, in the foreground, two figures on the rocks admiring the view of the Bec de l'Aigle. The artist was able to perfectly transcribe the different nuances of the end of a day on the Mediterranean Sea thanks to brushstrokes and a mastered serif.

His style, clean, mixes technique of the knife and a pictorial stylization. He receives numerous awards from his beginnings, and exhibits throughout the world.
Nb: An old small repainting, without impact, is to be noted in the sky.
