VIDAL Laurent (XIX-XXth)
"Mas on the island of Barthelasse in Avignon"
Oil on cardboard,
Signed lower right in a difficult to read,
Charming little painting by the Avignon painter Laurent Vidal which represents the courtyard of a lively farmhouse on the island of Barthelasse in Avignon. You can see in the background, the Palace of the Popes.
A pupil of Charles Vionnet at the School of Fine Arts in Avignon, Laurent Vidal exhibited at the Society of Fine Arts in Avignon in 1907 and in 1908 in Toulouse.
Mistaken by mistake with the sculptor Louis Vidal, Laurent Vidal mainly paints views of Avignon and Villeneuve les Avignon.
Dimensions: 15 x 21 cm without frame and 19 x 26 cm with its original wooden frame.
